When I graduated from UC Davis in 1981, my girlfriend and future ex-wife, had a job in LA at Oscar Meyer so we moved to Westminster. My father at the time was semi-retired and purchasing a small company in Orange County. I had worked warehouse and trucking jobs over the past few years, so he asked me to help out and verify the inventory, meet with the vendors and manufacturers of the product, among other tasks. Five years later, we were bankrupt, but it was a great run.
As this is my first post here, I’d like to pontificate on how qualified (or unqualified) I am to give any kind of vision of who the Raiders are this year. But alas, I will settle for giving unqualified predictions on what the next 7 games will look like for the Silver and Black.
As a biased Raider fan the rest of the week in the NFL only matters to me as much as it affects the Raiders in the standings or the general downfall of our most hated rivals. So fellow homers, here is who you should root for week 11 as a Raider fan.
Just a little over a month ago that name was barely even waiver wire fodder in Madden 2017 Franchise Mode. Fast forward to now—not only did Riley Jr. show up 5 days after signing only to lead the team in tackles, he went three consecutive weeks as our highest rated defender according to PFF.

Set sail with us as we enter the podcast maelstrom and do a deep dive on your Oakland Raiders each and every week.
In early August it was believed that the Raiders weakest link would be it’s newly formed defense…
My dad is a sports fanatic. Growing up in Mexico his favorite sports were soccer, boxing, and eventually American football. Although there wasn’t much American football being played in Mexico, they would occasionally air Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raider games. Coming from a tough neighborhood in Mexico city, the rebellious nature of the team from Oakland, along with having a coach and quarterback of Mexican descent made it an easy choice of who to root for.
One of the biggest critiques of our beloved Raiders has been the defense. How can we be 7-2 with a defense that is currently ranked 27th overall and 23rd in scoring allowed?
Well my friends let’s look under the hood and take a closer look. Sometimes superficial stats don’t tell the entire story.
I’ve noticed many semi’s bashing Bill Musgrave on the regular, but I don’t understand their complaints. The Raiders are currently 5th in the league in total offense, yards per game (401.1), and points scored (27.2).
